Run! Southwark in partnership with Disability Sports Coach are set to launch a brand new disability athletics coaching and talent identification pathway in Southwark.

Southwark Track Stars established by Run! Southwark and delivered by DSC coaches, are set to hand pick and nurture the next talented athletes who reside in the borough as of April 2014.

When asked about prospect of delivering the programme DSC's Coach Development Officer, Michael Jacobs said “Disability Sports Coach is delighted to be chosen to deliver this important programme for Run! Southwark and we are looking forward to finding the next group of talented disabled athletes, building on the legacy of London 2012 and working closely with schools in Southwark.”

The Southwark Track Stars Team will represent the borough at the South London Inter Borough athletics championships and the London Youth Games Para-Games athletics competition.

Aside from SEN school based coaching there is also been funding allocated specifically to setting up out of school hours provision to further develop talent whilst providing more opportunities for disabled athletes who may attend main stream schools.
