Chris is a communications and stakeholder engagement professional. Having set up his own business and worked for a number of PR & Marketing agencies, Chris brings his experience in social change communications and passion for grassroots sport to Disability Sports Coach.

A firm believer in the social and personal benefits that sporting involvement brings to young people and communities, Chris is determined to increase the opportunities available to all those wishing to participate in sport across the country.

Kate Grey

Kate Grey

Sport & Disability

Kate represented Great Britain for 10 years competing at European and World Championships, and the highlight of her career; the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games.

Since retiring from swimming she now works across the country as an Athlete Mentor in schools and communities, as well as a Broadcaster for the BBC.

Kate has supported Disability Sports Coach as a patron since 2015 and has always been really impressed by what the charity does and the difference it makes to so many disabled peoples lives. So to be a part of the Disability Sports Coach board is an exciting opportunity to help the charity grow and develop in new areas and with new ideas.

This is Kate's first experience as a board member and she feel it suits her passions and ambitions of improving disabled people’s lives through the power of sport and physical activity.

Treasurer & Accountancy

Chris is a chartered accountant and has been working in the financial services industry since 2001 both as an external and internal auditor.

Married with three children, Chris is passionate about sport having been involved as a player and supporter throughout his life. He is a strong believer in the joy and benefits that it can bring to all and is keen to help Disability Sports Coach improve lives by providing people with access to sport where they otherwise would not have the opportunity.

James Allen

James Allen

Charity & Governance

James Allen is the Director of Policy, Governance and External Affairs at the Sport and Recreation Alliance. James has been at the Alliance since May 2013 and leads public affairs, policy, Parliamentary and research activity as well as sports governance advisory services. James leads the delivery of the Alliance's contract with Sport Wales, providing governance advice and expertise to around 50 sport and public sector organisations in Wales.

He has led a number of key projects for the Alliance, including a national review of sports coaching qualifications in England and Scotland, national club surveys, the first meta level analysis of workforce diversity in sport and is a co-author of the Mental Health Charter for Sport and Recreation.

He is also a Non Executive Director of Sport Resolutions (UK), has held a range of communications, public affairs and policy roles in the private, public and not for profit sectors and has worked as a Policy Adviser to a former Cabinet Minister. James holds a Masters degree in Public Policy and the Advanced Certificate in Sports Governance and Administration from ICSA and is a regular guest lecturer at universities in the UK on sport policy.

Sam is a solicitor, having spent ten years working in private practice before moving to work as a lawyer within an insurance broking business. Sam joined the board in 2021.

A keen runner, Sam appreciates the physical and mental health benefits of sporting activity, and relishes the opportunity to provide those benefits to a broader base of people. Although as a Mansfield Town fan, Sam knows that sport has its ups and downs!

Agneta Briedyte

Finance

Agneta is an investment professional and has been working in the financial services industry since 2013. Agneta is an Investment and Risk Actuary, with her work focusing on research, design, development, and delivery of innovative investment funds and solutions to help meet the investment objectives of institutional clients and their assets.

From a very young age, Agneta has always been deeply passionate about sports (thanks to her father who was also her PE teacher!) having played basketball, boxing, track and field and dancing. Agneta firmly believes that sports benefits people as much mentally as it does physically – for her, exercise is self-love, inside and out, which is why she is passionate about fitness and healthy living. Her mission is to increase awareness and opportunities available to disabled people and is excited to be part of the Disability Sports Coach journey to reach more people to lead healthy, happy and active lives.
