And a big thank you to each of our runners who completed The Vitality Big Half 2019 for us!
Last Sunday 10 March, nine super supporters completed The Vitality Big Half in London to raise money for Disability Sports Coach. Cheered on by our team of volunteers, our runners did fantastically well despite the blustery conditions.
Our friends at global management consultancy Pcubed continued their wonderful support as a team of seven took on the challenge. Pcubed have raised a fantastic £720 so far – enough to fund a package of adapted equipment for one of our Community Clubs so people can benefit from a range of different sports. A big thank you to Christine, Richard, Jack, William, Michael, Rhodri and Ben!
Alex Dutcovici has also volunteered at our events, and smashed his fundraising target! Alex has raised £383 – enough to fund a series of Community Club sessions.
Andrei Angelescu and his friend Alex Turner celebrated four years of friendship by taking on a challenge that inspires others to be more active.
The pair said ‘By running The Big Half we want to make a plea to show that physical activity is for everyone and that by living an active life, we can become happier, healthier and more successful. And what better way to do so than supporting a fantastic cause.
To bridge the massive gap in participation for people with disabilities, Disability Sports Coach makes it possible for all disabled children and adults to have the same opportunities as their non-disabled peers, to learn new skills, take part in sports, have fun and meet new friends.’
Andrei and Alex also beat their target, raising £276 – enough to purchase an audible ball at each of our Community Clubs for visually impaired members.
A big thank you to each of our runners for helping us to reach even more people with disabilities in London.
