DSC have partnered with a local City of Islington College student, to provide a greater insight into the work and mentality of an experienced disability sports coach.
Eugene Burndam, currently studying film studies at the further educational college, approached DSC with the intention of creating a three minute documentary to aid the understanding of disability sports coaches varying coaching styles, dedication and aptitude needed to regularly succeed, as part of his current diploma.
With the thriving Club Islington just around the corner held at Sobell Leisure Centre, this was a perfect opportunity for Eugene to meet local people who make a real difference to people's lives. Asked as to why he chose disability sports, Eugene answered "Sometimes the most impressive people with intriguing vocations can be in the local area. I feel it's important to address the people who consistently make a difference to the lives of others in London. Their tasks are sometimes not credited but are vitally important."
'Meet Ariadna: Your Local Sports Coach' is an outstanding short documentary, that gives a perfect insight into Club Islington and the mentality of not only Head Coach Ariadna Marti, but of all those providing sport with DSC.
DSC would like to congratulate Eugene and wish him luck for the future. If you would like to get involved either as a DSC Coach or with a similar project, please contact Louis firstname.lastname@example.org.
