At the end of October, we celebrated the Half Term break with our very own October Half Term Activity Programme. Because of increasing social distancing measures, we decided to offer two options to our members: in-person activity sessions and online workouts, too!
On the afternoon of Thursday 29th October, we held two fun and inclusive multi-sports sessions at the Brixton Recreation Centre, where our members had a fantastic time learning tennis skills, doing football challenges and even taking part in dance-offs!
Our members enjoyed one last opportunity to get some in-person activity before the current lockdown, and our coaches loved seeing some familiar faces again after so long behind a screen!
Back at home on Wednesday 28th, we kicked off a morning of exciting adaptive activity with a multi-sports session led by Coach Debbie. After lunch, we had a nice relaxing reset with a yoga session led by Michelle from the Elephant and Castle Community Hub. Then, to finish off the day on a high, we enjoyed some dance with much-loved Coach Sophie.
Finally, on Friday 30th October, we enjoyed a high-energy dance session with Krystal before rounding off the week with our ever-popular quiz (with a Halloween twist!) We even finished off with a Halloween dance - in fancy dress!
Overall, the Half Term Activity Programme had a throughput of 98 people, including members, carers and family. It went down a storm with our members – with individuals asking when the next event would be occurring as they left sessions.
We had a great time and we can’t wait to share more exciting activities with you soon!
