As you probably know, the COVID-19 outbreak resulted in us having to suspend our Community Club programme until we are able provide a safe return for our coaches, volunteers and members.
Over recent weeks we have been in regular communication with the leisure operators that manage the sports facilities where our Clubs are based to establish when we can restart. The pandemic has presented many challenges for facility providers, many of whom have now reopened but are still not in a position to allow us to return.
Our plan is to resume our Community Clubs on a phased basis, with the first Clubs restarting in mid-September and then the others following over the next few months. Our aim is to ensure that, within the first phase, we can offer Club activity in North, South, East and West London, with at least one Club operating each of these regions.
We will continue to complement Club sessions with our twice-weekly online physical activity sessions which have proven extremely popular and which offer an alternative to face-to-face coaching. You can find our schedule and register for free here:
For those Clubs where the prospect of an imminent return to our current facilities is unlikely, we shall continue to explore alternative venues including parks, schools and other community settings.
We shall be in contact very soon with details of the Clubs that will be resuming in September but in the meantime, we thank you for your continued patience and apologise for the delay in the resumption of our full programme.
For those who have not yet had the chance to check out our current Club survey, we would really appreciate a few minutes of your time in completing the questionnaire as it will help us better understand people’s thoughts and feelings about returning to our Club sessions.
